Premarriage Preparation was written to introduce couples preparing for their new (first, second, third, or whichever) marriage to most practical and legal issues they will face, or be forced to face, at some point early in their marriage. This book provides couples with the tools they need to deal with various marital matters now, before, they grow into family issues later. I have tried to cover every significant legal topic that I feel, based upon my 36 years of matrimonial law, could seriously affect a couple, as well as children that were brought into, and born into, this marriage. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to these issues, so I simply explain each situation from the different perspectives and leave it to the couple to make their own decisions, or discuss the issues, more intelligently now, with their own counsel.
This book deals with nearly 200 important topics that will enhance your knowledge of day-to-day practical and legal matters beyond the domestic world. Not only does this book explain the issues in easy-to-understand simple language, it contains legal samples and forms for most of the topics discussed that require written documentation and written instruments. In addition, with each form I specifically address the proper method of executing the documents and what to do with them after execution.
You will find very little overlap with the subjects and topics covered in this book with those covered in premarital counseling. The goal of premarital counseling is to prepare the couple for their marriage, while this book is designed to empower the couple with tools necessary to build a strong marriage to be prepared to face the real world.
